Hi! I’m Kaitlyn, the wanderlust-fueled soul behind Escapes by Kait. I grew up just outside the small village of Romeo, Michigan, and I still call the northern suburbs of Metro Detroit home with my husband, Shane. We’re your stereotypical DINKWADs who are completely obsessed with our two Australian Shepherds, Rosie and Lucy.
While most tourists collect postcards or fridge magnets from their travels, I collect tattoos. Each one is a reminder of a place that stole a piece of my heart. I love when people ask about them because it gives me the perfect opportunity to share stories from some of the incredible places I’ve explored. I guess you could say I wear my travels on my sleeve—literally.
I always thought I’d follow in my grandpa’s footsteps as a photographer, but the universe had other plans. After dropping out of college to chase that dream, I spent over a decade in the corporate logistics world before finally discovering my true calling. Helping people escape the everyday grind to experience a well-designed getaway isn’t just my job; it’s what I was meant to do.
